Teachers/Educators go to long lengths for their students. The list is endless and unrelenting in regards to what we do that is "above and beyond" so that our students can get everything possible out of the day or class period. The below article talks about some of those things that we do as educators and the lengths we go to. Thanks for going to those lengths, it is appreciated.

Questions to consider:
1. Do you keep a balance between the "lengths" you go and your time "away" from work?
2. What do you do to get your break from school?
Work-life balance is an area of personal interest of mine. I completed my thesis on the topic (http://mrbley.edublogs.org/forteachers/time-management-and-work-life-balance/). Here are some strategies I learned in my research that have worked for me in my current position:
ReplyDelete- I keep boundaries in place to keep work from encroaching on my personal life (e.g. I don't keep my school email on my phone)
- I make time on the weekends to recharge my batteries and spend time with friends
- I use my planning time to complete the most important tasks
- I do things I enjoy doing -- like reading, cooking, or riding my bike
